User Reviews

For a quite a few months I had tried on a lot of watches; Tags, Omegas, Ebels, you get the idea.

First, let me say as a woman, I need my watch to look good, but it must also perform well. I'm not big into the really dainty dainty watches because though they look good, they're pretty hard to read. Also, I'm somewhat of a clutz and I killed a Movado in nothing flat, so I wanted something that could take a few knocks and bumps.

A coworker told me, hey, look at Oris. So being a bit of a reasearch freak, Googled Oris and and have to say, there's not a lot out there! I went looking for a some opinions and reviews and considering how much you see on Rolex, Omega, Tag, Ebel, Cartier, etc, I was coming up with some slim pickings!

Ok so fine, so I had to do a face to face to see what I really liked. Oh and its really recommended you do that anyway. What you think you like by reading may not be what you really like in person.

First I had tried on the newer Omega Aqua Terra. I really like the dial! I love that subtle pin stripe and I liked that it has a curved back which makes it fit very comfortably to the wrist.

But lets be real, they were asking a heck of a lot for it! But it was the front runner of what I was looking for. Not too blingy, but still nice looking, classic lines, you get the idea.

Next, I tried on Tag Heur watches, in particular the Aqua Racers and Links. After having had the Omega on, I didn't like them. They felt very scratchy and dosen't curve nicely along the back to fit the wrist like the Omega. They look nice, but just too sporty for my tastes. And yes I know they can take quit a licken which is why they were on my list to begin with.

I may get dinged for this but after I put on the Omega, the Tags felt kinda of cheap.

After that, I tried on the Ebel. The one I liked was very cute, but the faces were a bit too small. I already have glasses, I don't need to strain and kill my self trying to read my watch.

Tried a Cartier too but wow, why so small?? Too dainty for me!

Then I tried on an Oris. Its like the sky opened up and sunlight poured into the showroom and angels danced around and said "this is it, this is it!"

What a great watch! The back is curved to the wrist like the Omega which is very comfortable.

The dial is really gorgeous. I love that two toned look and it goes well with all of my jewelery. Its not a pinstripe but its still very distinctive and lovely. Also, the face isn't tiny! I can read this watch at a glance.

Another plus, I like the see-through back. I've never seen that before so thats really cool.

This watch is very classic from the clean lines to the basket weave bracelet. It just says "Hi, I'm a classy watch". Its not super casual but not super dressy, its right in between which allows me to wear it every day with a lot of different outfits.

And apparently they can take a decent beating. Thats always a plus. I also learned that at the pricepoint I was targeting, this company had the only automatic watch. wow!

This is a watch I can wear for a long time and never lose its style, no matter what I'm wearing. It makes me like it even more.

Of course, this is NOT a watch you'd wear to play sports or anything, but you should get a G-shock for that anyway!

So after trying on all those watches, I went home, jumped on line and purchased this watch (you really didn't think I'd buy it at a maul store did you?)

When I got the watch I was really amazed by the presentation. Guys, with women, presentation is key! Oris has such gorgeous packaging and I love the black and red box(s). Instructions were included but not needed, this watch is very easy to set. Ive worn it since I got it and haven't noticed any time slipping.

If you have small wrists like I do, you're going to have to remove a few links. I had to remove 4. Not too many people know about this brand which is suprising, but I do keep getting compliments on how nice it is. That prompts people to ask where to find it!

I may will certainly come back and update this review at a later date, but have to say for now its really won me over.

And yeah I know this is not a very technical review, but I'll save that for computer stuff eh?
